A 38-year-old man in Singapore has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a housebreaking and theft case.
The police received a report that a residential unit in Kovan Road had been broken into, with more than S$83,000 worth of jewelry and accessories stolen. The suspect was identified and apprehended by officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division, and all the stolen items were recovered. The man is set to be charged with housebreaking and theft, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years’ imprisonment and a fine.
The police advised property owners to enhance security measures, such as using quality grilles, padlocks, burglar alarms, motion sensor lights, and CCTV cameras to deter potential break-ins and ensure the safety of their premises. Additionally, they recommended avoiding keeping large amounts of cash on the premises.
