Suspect Arrested for 3 Housebreakings in Serangoon Gardens and Sentosa

A 40-year-old Chinese national has been arrested for his suspected involvement in three housebreaking cases reported on 7 Dec and 8 Dec 2025.

The incidents took place at residential properties along Chuan Drive and Li Hwan Close in Serangoon Gardens, as well as in the Sentosa Island area, the police said in a statement on 9 Dec 2025.

With the aid of CCTV footage and police camera images, officers from the Ang Mo Kio Police Division identified and arrested the suspect on 8 Dec 2025.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the man had allegedly broken into the homes and stolen jewellery while the occupants were not home.

Police have recovered jewellery, more than $1,000 in cash, four ez-link cards, as well as a cap and a wig. The suspect will be charged on Dec 10 with housebreaking to commit an imprisonable offence. If convicted, he may face up to 10 years’ imprisonment and a fine.

The police also reminded the public to take steps to secure their homes and valuables, especially during the year-end holiday season. They encouraged residents to maintain proper perimeter security, lock doors and windows, install monitored burglar alarms and CCTV cameras, store valuables in safes, and use motion-activated lighting.

Residents were also encouraged to take part in community watch initiatives such as Neighbours on Watch and Citizens on Patrol.
